Default Timing Belt Covers

I just tried using the Timing belt covers I got from a guy on hondaswap.com, and it turns out the bastard sent me 88-89 integra ones and not DOHC ZC. I paid 40 USD (Im in Canada so That alot) for these.

So in other words, I dont' want to spend more, so my only other choice is to go no cover. Never liked the idea, what do you think?

I wouldn't do it. You are just asking for a rock to jump in there. I would at least make something from materials you have laying around like maybe with sheet metal and duct tape or something.

I might think about getting another.

I don't have the top portion of mine on and I have part of the bottom cut out (long story) with no problems.

But you never know.

Ya, I never wanted to run without one. And I don't want a shable under there either.

I melted mine last year (hot exhaust from turbo when gasket blew) so It had a big hole in it. Oh well, might try to find something.

Any body Got one Kicken' around?

lol, I dropped a dowel down the timing belt cover when the engine was running. I think its still down there and I can hear it bounce around every now and than. So far it didn't do any harm.

Abaz, sounds great. I'm sure you you know the difference between a D16A1 and a JDM DOHC ZC.

i did that with one of the metal reinforcement things in the cover, but didn't notice. i start the car up and hear this loud plastic grinding buzzing noise, look up and there's chunks of rubber flying up out of the open top half of the belt cover. it ground half the width off my nice new timing belt and embedded the metal reinforcement into the lower belt cover.
