Talked to Mechanic today what you think?

when they hone your block they should also check it for roundness. If its not completely round they will have to over bore it. Honda sells honda pistons just for this purpose called rebuild/over bore pistons, they are .25mm over sized. .. fyi.

Re:Talked to Mechanic today what you think?
O.K. if you're getting stock size pistons, and you don't get the block sleeved, pinned, or use a block guard, you should not have to get it honed, because you haven't done anything to the sleeves for them to get out of round. you also obviously won't have to get it bored. as far as the crank, you can get it polished, but it will be fine stock unless it's coming out of a blown engine, then you prolly do want to get it micro polished, therefore, stock bearings would work fine, you can do all that ---- that was mentioned, but if you're not getting the block sleeved or pinned, chances are you won't be boosting over 10 psi., therefore, you don't need to do all of that crap. as far as the head, everything you had listed to will be pretty good.

ok ... well i wanna be able to boost to 15 psi... Do i really ahve to sleeve, pin, or use a block guard? and i thought the reason u hone the cylinder is to get it nice and smooth with the crosses at 60 degrees so that the piston rings slide up and down smoothly.. Anyone with a Haynes manual will know what i mean.. Im not worried about it getting outta round.. the engine was taken out of a running car... Im doing all the extra ---- to the crank to make sure my car actually Lasts.... I was told by the mechanic.. do it all if you wann do it right and that way your engine lasts a couple of years.. And you can "Mash on the ****** ****** all you want" <- His exact words...

15 lbs., yes, you will have to sleeve it or at least post it, but if you want it to last a few years like you say, you WILL have to get it sleeved, then, yes, you will have to do all of the stuff you mentioned, sorry to have to be the one to tell you that your project just got 1k dollars more expensive

Re:Talked to Mechanic today what you think?
If you put new rings in you ALWAYS have to get it honed. (if you want it to last more than 3000 miles) That takes the fine scratches out of the wall and allows the rings to seat properly. If you want more displacement in your motor than you get it bored where they actually take metal out of the cylinder walls to make the cylinders larger. Boring it will make your walls thinner and weaker for a turbo application.

Re:Talked to Mechanic today what you think?
just for futher information, honda sells the pistons @ standard, .10, .15,.20,.25 over stock bore. now if you are rebuilding a motor with about 50k or less miles on it...a standard size will be ok. but if you have a motor that has about 120k or so..i'd suggest oversizing it. if you dont trust me....ASK A HONDA PRO! Wear and tear on the motor opens up gaps and crap...and warpage starts happening. so oversizing it a bit....will not hurt. and its the same price for the pistons. they'll ask you if you want oversized or standard. just let them know what you need.

fyi, mr gasket sells a full gastket set for your car for about $125. You can find it in Summit or I see them on ebay from time to time. I would still use a Honda headgasket though. They are the best! However, it's easier to buy that set than to have to look for all the individual gaskets

Yeah, bore it and use oversized pistons. I put stock sized forged pistons in my motor with 150k on it. The machine shop said it was ok, but there is so much piston slap that it sounds like a diesel engine :-)
This stems back to my "A good machine shop is hard to find" theory.
