This is a sway bar i'm trying to bolt on not a strut bar. The sway bar has to be bolted under the rear of the car in the same area you'll bolt up a lower tie bar. The 96 civic doesn't come w/ a sway bar.

sway bar is not the same as strut bar.
4dr doesn't come with a strut bar.
the only problem he is having is getting help.

so necro, do you have the mounting brackets for the sway bar and the end links? the end links mount to the control arms. you will need the control arms with the mounting points. you can get the ex or si ones. which swaybar do you have?
your rear lcas should have the mounting points for the endlinks.

for the h brace, the single bar section mounts where the control arms attach to the subframe. once under the car you will see where the other two points mount.

the swaybar mounts from the rear...there should be 4 bolt holes (2 on each side) of the subframe. bolt the mounting brackets there (the bar should already be mounted to them with the bushings). the bar then reaches up and over the lca's and then the endlinks reach down and bolt to the front side of the lca. all model civics have lca's w/ the mounting holes...lower model civics don't have mounting holes on the front lca's. there you go...good luck.

this is a good question and i think it should be kept in the FAQ's!

I am trying to do this to my 4 door too but the brackets wont bolt up to the sub frame, i dont think, cause they arent tapped!

from what i have read/researched is that 96+ civic have the holes already in them ready for the sway bar. you can either drill and tap them or get a subframe reinforcement. a good one is by ASR.
