swap problems
i have a 98 civic dx.we jus did a ls vtec swap and it looks ok but........ we jus put on a 99 si harness and computer and its not good cause people tell me i should of stood with the stock dx wire harness and run the vtec......can someone help me.........i have a 96-98 jumper harness with a 95 gsr computer and they tell me i need a p28 computer instead.
You probably should have just stuck with your DX harness, and ran the extra wire for vtec, since both the Si and Dx wiring is the same besides vtec. All you would have had to do was plug ur dx harness to the jumper and run vtec. I dont see why that the gsr ecu wouldnt work, unless that ecu has some kind of sensor for the secondaries in the gsr intake, which i dont kno if it does or not?
sorry i couldnt help much, just my thoughts

yeah i would have stuck with the dx harness and modified the wires from there. Because there isnt really any point of using the 99 si wiring harness. Because with the dx you have to extend some wires, and add wires depending on what vtec you're using. I have only worked on 6th gen ex's and hx's. And I believe that you have to do a iacv wire fix. What's the problem with the motor. Did you guys fire it up yet? Any cel? And tell us what vtec head you use and block.
your car is obd2a while 99+ is obd2b. 99 si harness wont be ideal for you.
your entire motor/trans/ecu is all obd1. get a obd2a > obd1 adapter harness and sub harness for a gsr motor.

you might want to check out that place. they sell all sorts of conversion harnesses. Should make the use of your DX harness alot easier. You may have to change some plugs on the engine side though. shoot them an email.
