I don't see how it would break unless you smash something into it or try to thread it in way too far.

Ok so I leave it where it is then

And do what about the PVC box I can no longer fit in and the large hole in the back of my block?

vibration. it does happen, i know from exp. (not a TT fitting though). it's remote mounted now. no problems 3yrs and running.
