You won't be able to tell that from plug color anyway. Plugs will always have some soot on them when you first start the engine and even cruising around town. Only time they self-clean is when they reach that 500-800* mark...i.e. highway or full throttle situations.

Ahh, but tps and map sensor both have the same 0-5v range. You would notice it though on the vafc, it would display weird. This right here is the only reason I left my vafc2 in my car...so it's easier for me to set tps voltage. :P It sounds like your firing order is screwed up...obviously the standard 1-3-4-2, but maybe your starting point on the dizzy is set wrong. Set your motor to tdc on cyl. #1 then check which point the rotor is pointing at...that's your starting point.
