Stripped mount holes on tranny!!!
OK over time the threads have stripped out of the holes on top of the tranny. So now i can't drive because it's leaning like a **** and i have a jack holding it up, Should i just go buy a tap thats a few steps bigger then the stock holes and rip it through?

I'm going to have to go to home depot and buy a tap or two, Becuase when they first stripped i just steped the bolt size up and reamed it in there creating new threads on on the bottom half of the hole over the old threads, and i guess those broke loose as well. I thinking it's because i'm running sold avid moutns so all the force gets put right on those bolts with no give at all. I'll let you know what happends when i get home.

IF yours is too messed up at this point, get a 1/2 tap since it's a little bigger, and use a 1/2 bolt.

yeah i'm going to have to use 3 bolts now instead of 2 studs and a bolt, Because i can't find any studs that will work now that i'm goign to have to step up to a 1/2" bolt. It should be good though we'll see what happends tonight. O and i never use impact (air or electric) on anythign in my car, hand tools seem to be just as fast because thats what i'm used to using. but sence i'm going to be using all bolts what i'm goign to have to do is jack the tranny up to the position that it's going to be in and then tighten the bolts down, other wise the wieght of the tranny will just strip the new threads out, Thats why they use studs on the mounts because it transfers the wieght to the upper lip of the mount instead on having the weight focused on the threads.
