Default Sputtering in Gear Help

I use to be boosted for about 300 miles, my car is now n/a 74k on it is a d16y8, i was boosted from may 14th to June 4th. It had a tune up at 41K ( Timing belt, spark plugs, spark plug wires, water pump( i believe))

So on June 4th i took off my turbo, put everything back to stock, i had to extend my o2 sensor for it to meet in my downpipe. i left that how it was and returned everything back to stock except intake and exhaust. So once everything was on i started my car, everything ran fine, no cel, no bad idle. I had to go to pep boys to recharge my refridgant. I started to drive my car to pep boys which is like a mile away, but i felt a sputter in 4th gear at 2k rpm, i said well maybe i have to reset my ecu, correct the fuel maps. So i went to pep boys then everything was fine problem didnt happen, until i went on the highway.

It started to sputter when i was in 4th gear and accelerating at about 30%. it was in gear it like couldnt catch some but at WOT it would catch no matter what.

So i figure dont use 4th gear, So i was crusin, the same thing happen in 5th gear at about 80 mph. i was getting worried maybe i was close to detitnation because i had to put the distrutior back to where it was because the timing was retarded by 2 degrees and i thought i may have skrewed something up. I got home turned off my car and i couldnt figure out what the hell it was. I got new spark plugs, see if that would fix the problem, i drove it around for 50 miles, everything was fine. Then i said ill just reset the ecu to be sure. Then it started to happen again when i was leaving for work. but this time i gave it a 30% gas again in 1st gear and it started to sputter again at 2k rpms. There is no over heating of any kind, when i drove on the highway boosted to get my turbo off i saw that the coolant overflow tank was leaking a little. im not throwing any cels, i put the o2 sensor back to how it should be, reset the ecu again for 8 hours, the temp gauge in my cluster is where it normally is like 35%, I asked this question before everyone said it was the distrutor i bought one it should be here on the 15th, and if that doesnt work i have no idea what it could be.

Any Help would be great.
thank you
Eric

Hey eric, im having the same problem right now, i think mine may be wiring related, i had the same problem with my last set up ls vtec... almost identical, i bought a b16 swap and put it in and same symptoms. It idles fine and no smoke from anywhere. So my best guess would be to double check that as in my new set up everything is new, plugs, injectors, distributor, throttle body, so everything air/fuel/spark related is new except my pump which i know is fine and my wire harness is the only thing i reused. I will be checking it out soon and let you know what i find, very low on time these days.
Best of luck to you

Well thats a cheap thing i can try and replace, i dont think mine ever has been. Mine sputters really bad and it tends to drop down to under 1k rpm if i WOT it.
so i dunno.

Dont give up yet, i tried the damn fuel filter, wasnt it, i checked like everything on my car, i have a very good instinct that its something electrical. but i dont want to diagnose it with my multimeter, damn i guess im going to have to. I have a dizzy laying around, but i know thats not my problem, its a bone stock jdm swap.

I will try that my friend, its just weird how it does it, like i take off and right away it starts to cut out, then it lunges forward like its fine and back and forth with little driveability in between. I was thinking it was some kind of loose ground, i know all my engine bay grounds are fine, would a bad main relay have anything to do with it? Im just trying to get some more ideas here... im sure ill get it.

Anyonelse got any ideas? The car idels fine and revs fine in neutral. It revs fine whenever its at a stop. As soon as i start going in first or any other gear the car starts to sputter then literally halts itself... then boom jumps like its ready to go.
Ive checked everything i can think of now.
