either way if you drive it like that you have a greater chance of ruining the crank, rod, or even the block if its a main bearing.


I put a d16y5 oil pump in my y7, i dont know if the shitty 96+ d's have a weakness in the crank oil holes or the pump but the more expensive "high performance" oil pump i purchased turned out to have a y5 part number.

ya i got the bitch to give me a ride to school and a buddy home
probably not going to start the car till like spring
other then disconnecting the battery you guys have any good storage ideas for the winter
its in a under ground parking lot

If its knocking BAD then the crank will be fucked. but if its knocking faintly you can throw in a new or even used bearing and itll last. I polished my crank and threw in a used bearing and the engine lasted me a while. I used the old rod. I did it cuz I wanted to see if it woudl last and I didnt feel like pulling the tranny to change the crank. It ran well but spun it again.

You get 7-10k cheesing in a bearing like that, unless the crank is really heat scarred.

storage ideas um windows up. My old civic sat around for almost 18 months before I worked on it again. New motor. Fresh fluids. Old tank of gas



Rapped the rev limiter for a good 10 minutes
fix a leak stuff clogged raditor after rapping blowing off a hose spraying sparkles all of my mad jdm motor



New hose



went rapping again


threw a rod 2 weeks later

im going to check the crank first but the only thing that will cost me is time and oil

Yeah I found a crank kit for cheap so 250 bucks later im gonna get my ---- back up as well. I couldnt find a god damn D anything around ehre that had less than 70k miles on it.
