Re:the sounds of pinging?

I just have the stock intake pipe from a 4th gen prelude and I cut a hole in it and put the bov in and put rubber sealant around that. I have some random cylindrical filter that I got at autozone. I took out the heating/cooling assembly because I have no ac and the damn temp know was stuck in the middle so it was no good for heating since it blew kinda cold air. and for weight reduction. the temp gauge says it's good, but I have overheated this engine before and caused big problems.

Hrm... I would try connecting the filter (if its possible) straight to the intact manifold and pull all the piping out for now. See if maybe that helps with the pinging?

Keep an eye on the EGT if it goes slightly above the middle of the pathway you've got a hot honda :)

sorry, I don't have an egt gauge yet, you keep over estimating me chacko, what you must remember is that I'm ghetto, I probably have a bird in the intake.

lol, well I'm just worried about you spinning a bearing or something. This isn't your only car is it?

it is. I'm working on a deal for a 4-door that "needs work". I'm hoping it's just the engine so I can just tear that one out and put my old d15b2 in there.

check out the sig. 88 dx hatch. it has a b16a in it.

I called about that 4door and the engine is fine, the suspension is fucked. I'm going to go check it out today, hopefully hmt can help me out with passenger side front suspension parts.

I am now 87.352554623% sure that it is pinging, I didn't pay too much attention to it before, but when I drove it this morning it was cold and there was no pinging in the usual places. I hope my head isn't fucked, I need it for my LS/VTEC project.

you ------- detonation.

I'd garage it for now if you can and get someone else to drive you around then if you need the head :( Or be ready to buy a new one. Though generally its the BLOCK that takes the front of the damage in detonation (head usually suffers damage when you rev to high).

Aight, peep dis:

Or, if you prefer MP3, just change the extension.

So, that's what detonation sounds like on me 1.6L Toyoda engine.
