Default Someone please explain to me...fpr question

Please explain to me why when I'm watching my fuel pressure gauge and I hit the throttle my fuel pressure drops and then goes back up after the engine goes to closed throttle? At idle my car makes 43psi fuel pressure, when you hit the throttle it drops down to around 35psi, and when you let off the throttle it comes back up to 43psi again. That's backwards from what it's supposed to be. Walbro 255hp pump and b&m fpr on 450cc dsm injectors. Anyone have any clues?

typical B&M piece of junk

The diaphram is stuck.

Why I got rid of mine and went with the rail mount Aeromotive.

I agree try a stocker and see what happens

Perhaps do we know why your turbo was overheating your car running lean sometimes and correct other times?

Yeah, I agree on the garbage aspect. I'll try another stock unit tomorrow.

Heat soak and possibly the headgasket leaking under boost, although it never pushed coolant out of the rad into the overflow. My fmic was just too big (blocking over 90% of the rad and it's a 2.25" thick fmic) and only thing I could think of was my ic was getting heatsoaked from that and the turbo being as small as it was. Intake mani would get so hot you could fry an egg on it. My last datalog run I recorded the intake air temp...was hitting almost 180* when it was starting to act up according to freelog. It never hit that high the first few weeks the car was on the road because ambient air temp was still on the high 40's low 50's. As it got warmer it got worse. Now with everything off the car seems to run flawlessly. The fpr issue adds to it a little, but I have it turned up enough so the rail is still seeing 42psi even when it drops. I had a feeling about it, the needle on the gauge was jumping around like crazy. :P

Hah...new (or old for that matter) fpr FTW! B&M fpr FTL :P Tossed the stock fpr back on and the needle no longer jumps and works properly again. Time for a real fpr
