its a situation of a 6 of 1 half dozen of the other kinda thing, either one will work great over any other factory D series IM so my suggestion is to use whichever you can get cheaper

Stock for Stock I feel that the Z6 motor are the fastest, but a ported and polished non Vtec head with 3 or 5 angle cut seats is gonna be better than a stok Vtec head. There is a lot of power to be release front any Honda motor, SOHC or DOHC.
