Re:sohc v.s. dohc
How much power can the F-series handle ? My friend blew up 2 different F motors in his 95 Accord manual, sohc vtec without any nitrous, turbo, or S/C, and good scheluded maintance.
the first motor was the stock one, the it blew up and he got it rebuilt, then the rebuild blew up, then a different place swapped in a whole new motor and it developed a rod knock right before he took it to carmax... Now he has an exploror.. F22 #1= died F22 #2 rebuilt = died F22 # used motor swap = alomost died D15b2 with 75 shot and 155K miles = 9 bottles and NEVER died... I'd say Sohc over DOHC... DOHC isn't worth the extra money, and whrere in the hell would you find cams etc ? What if the extra rare ( apparently ) DOHC F motor bends some valves or something... get your checking account ready. Then again I'd take a D over a B anyday b/c of cost of parts replacement and avalibitly.. |
Re:sohc v.s. dohc
for 25 damn HP its not work the cost of the swap. Take the money you would have spent on the swap and do internals or better fuel management.
There's your answer ;) no more arguing about the damn motor. |
