Simple B18a Head question
Hey guys, first I would like to thank everyone for giving their time in reading this (and hopefully responding to it).
My situation here is, I'm looking at picking up a 1990 Integra RS with a crack in the head (motor was overheated) for a really good price. The car has higher mileage, so it is most likely on it's second motor, not to mention I saw some numbers on the engine in that yellow paint marker that salvage yards use to ID parts. I think that it is a b18a motor, but there is a slight chance it is a b18b from a later model integra.
My question tonight is, will a b18b head bolt up and function every bit the same as the b18a head would on a b18a block? I'm looking at getting the best-priced non VTEC functional head up to 1995. I would really hate to have to go out and buy a new distributor or intake/exhaust manifold. Needless to say, no LS/VTEC swaps at this time.
I'm going for reliability over performance with this car, so I doubt it will ever see anything past an intake/exhaust setup.
Please let me know at your convenience.
Thanks again

Re:Simple B18a Head question
just use ur intake and dizzy from the origanil engine and just slap on the b18b head...works fine...and easy...like just taking off an old head and putting a clean one on....i think it will give you about 10 more HP because of the head design....if im not mistaken.
