should i do a mini-me conversion on a hf motor with 150k miles?
I am buying a 88hf in a few days and i want to kno if ishould buy my cusins vtec head. i would like to turbo charge it later on probly 7 psi intercooled. but i want to know if the hf bottom end can hold it. just want to save some money. and is the tranny on the hf realy that bad because i heard it has long *** gears but i would think the boost might even it out so it wouldn't seemso long.

the hf motor wont work b/c the pistons dont have the valve reliefs just boost it how it is till it blows, u might want to get a intake man. and the ecu from a si tho, it would be a nice upgrade

yea i think i might boost it and see how it turns out. i know it will be slow as hell. but i think i will boost it till i get a d16z6 or d16y7 or y8 depends on how much $ i got. i dont think a a6 ecu will work because of 8 valves and 16. but if i do the y7 swap i think i will. how do you think the tranny will be with the y7 and boost?

i think it would be fun to have a boosted y7 with a hf tranny the hf tranny will do 90 in 2 gear readline i dont think the 8 to 16 valve would make a diff when it came to the ecu i mean the ecu has nothing to do with the valves does it?, do this get the ecu ,intake manifold from a si it will make a big diff. im pritty shure the injectors are even a less cc than si maybe someone else will have some input i dont think i would boost on thos einjectors if they are smaller which ithink they are i might be wrong tho?

youll be fine...the ecu will work fine...cc is the same on all honda except some p&h over sat....and diff on the h22a injectors....the only diff is the fuel regulation from the diff regulators.

ok cool so when i do the swap to a d16y7 i just bolt on the manifold from the a6 right. and i would put the hf distributor on the y7. i think. and then wire up the harness. sounds simple.

the easiest thing for u to do would be to get a d16a6 motor and ecu. then boost that beatch. those motors go for cheap under 150$ mang. its a better, stronger motor and compression is less than the y7(great for boost). and everything is plug and play.
