SEdan runs hot at highway speeds WTF?

Re: SEdan runs hot at highway speeds WTF?
my 86 crx was doing that after i added the turbo/fmic (blocking my radiator), so i got a thicker radiator, wrapped my manifold and downpipe, used water wetter, and took out my thermostat.
also, if you do have a thermostat in there, use ONLY honda OEM ones..took me a couple from pep boys to figure that out. they wouldn't open right, and my car would overheat just sitting there.

ok two things, i have crazy overheating issues and it is because of 2 slow leaks.
check for leaks.
also, put some spacers under you hood.
it took me like 5 min and 5 bucks and made a huge difference.
just bought some square tubing. and 4-2in bolts and washers.
cut 2 pieces of tubing at 1 1/2 inch. and 2 at 1 inch.
then put them under your hood in between the hinge and the hood.
crank the bolts down and done.
and yes my ---- looks mad ------ish but o well.

Ok since where on the topic of over heating. My crx, lsvtec crx, b18b block, b16 head. I was using a ls water pump and it would start to over heat from time to time. I also found the t-start was clogged. I took out the t-start, and put in a oem b16 water pump. On the way down to E-town to day it started to over heat every time I got on it. There are no leaks. Also I have a 1600cfm fan. I am not sure what it could be .

You guys have to come to the conclusion that big motors naturally want larger raditor, hence look what comes stock in the integra's. This is something that has to be done on all road race cars I have dealt with. The stock halfy units just dont cut it. So if you must run a halfy you need to start to use things like water wetter. Fan on a switch and powered at start up. Tstat either removed or a factory oem unit. Also make shields to make sure your radiator isnt get heat soaked and will do its job
You ever really cleaned the cooling system before. You may also have a clogged heater core things like this are just going to happen more often with crx's due to their age.

I just pulled the water pipe off my old engine I ran for a few years and it was so caked with barnacles inside, it significantly reduced the flow. I didn't have overheating problems though, weird. Another thing to check though.

I been driving the sedan the past couple of days with the water wetter and no T stat and its ------- sweet! i wish i could run a full radiator but ------- Ef's have no space. I remember running a full one with the HF manifold and a T3 Thunferchinken. Hmmmm... maybe i should flip the turbo and run a full size. makes sense.
