Is it possible that micropolishing will take a tiny scuff out of a journal on my crankshaft? I don't want to have to dish out even more money and get it reground.

how tiny is it? if it's really small yea you could polish it off with some 400grit paper(i think thats what i used). but if the gash is bigger use caution it could ---- up your oil and bearing. Also what is the gash from it'd usally from a spun bearing. and if thats the case check out the rings, pistons and sleeve.
