Default Rotary engine

Whats so good abt it?
My friend bought a Rx7 (RC) with turbo2 in it. and he said its gonna fast as hell. Its a turboed rotary engine that crazy I also heard that it has some major problems with it too. I wonder if one day hes racing and the engine would jus blow up!

the motor is so compact (size of a 1/4 keg) they create a huge amount of heat and sometimes catch on fire. My friend had a 90 RX-7 and caught on fire like a mile outside his house. The car was on fire and he was still trying to rip the boost controller out of the dash. He than had to watch the car burn

Also Apex seals go every 65,000 miles so they are high matinence. No cams, valves, timing belts, crankshafts, pistons, connecting rods. Instead a shitload of seals (corner seals, apex seals, oil seals) and 2 triangles that rotate around an eccentric shaft.

Wankle is the ----.

Heres a link for all of you new to the rotary. The best part is its non-recipericating (very smooth)

the only 3 rotor is the 20B and its not in America

The 12A, 13B, 13B-REW were all 2 rotor motors

everything ive read about the rotary and theory of operation is you must double its advertised displacment. If thats always the case then you could make a point that (in NA form anyway) this is a very shitty motor. I love the new rx8, 250hp and like... 160 ft lbs of torque? :P

My brother had a 1989 Rx-7 and he was a jackass and would always flood it by not allowing it to come up to operating temp before shutting it back down.
