Default Rings - reuse?

My Arias pistons still have rings on them. The less I spend the better.

They still look good...whats the ruling on re-using them?

even if they look ok, it whould suck to put it all back togeather and 100 miles down the road they are bad, might as well replace them now

I reused my cp's with rings after a bad rod knock in my old motor and they had 10k on them.(I got a crank and a block in better shape so i swaped internals) As long as the bores were good on the last motor and the rings were sealing, I see no problem in reuseing them.

i would only reuse them if they are going into the same block/cyl you pulled them from.

If its low miles and the bore size is the same it should be fine. I pulled my rings and ---- and swaped to a diffrent motor, I just made sure the bore was .20over and I still get 180 in every cylinder.

I think it's one of those things that you should never do, but will sometimes work. BOOYA!!!!

eh... if its the same bore... it will be fine. I just worry about honing the block and having the block even a tiny bit too large. I dunno if thats a plausible concern.

you 'can' reuse them, just be sure the block has a good hone so they seal good, and as far as the bore being the same, well obviously they're going in the same bore block that they came out of, but just check all your end gaps. i personally wouldn't, but i have before :P

well ive decided that im going to go ahead and toss em in, if they dont seal well i can just replace them.

they might be a bit hard to get rings for, they're a discontinued arias piston.

stock bore z6 piston going in stock bore z6. im pretty sure thats the right size, heh.
