Default rhd wiring harness

From what I have heard you cant use a rhd harness in a lhd car because the ecu is located on the wrongside so my question could you not run longer wires so that the harness would reach the right side of the car? Or am I just talking out of my *** as I often do.

just solder the wires together so they never split

b16 wiring isn't very complicated, fitting the whole new wiring harness in there will be harder than running the necessary wires and fitting them into the existing wiring harness.
