Default replace motor question

I pulled the head after my timing belt broke and it turns out piston 3 is shattered and the valves are gone. So I got another motor, same engine code D16A6, for cheap w/out tranny. I want to know if I could do the swap without removine the tranny from the engine bay. I was thinking it would be alot easier if I didn't have to deal with removing the axles, shift linkage and stuff like that. Thanks!

sure you can its really easy to do it that way. Pulling the motor and following the honda manual is foolish. never trust an engineer.

Take everything out. It takes about 30 minutes for a newb to disassemble each side of a Honda; just be careful not to mushroom your ballpoints. You'll save yourself a ton of time and headache by taking out the whole assembly. Just treat the car like a Lego set and you'll be fine.

30 mins each side is to long. car on stands wheels off loosen ball joint and tie rods. grab the sperator. then just pop the axles out the tranny let them hang. its really not alot of work. pulling and reinstalling w/ tranny in is just stupid. pull it out complete
