hmm.. so i switched spark plug wires, and now it runs... hmm?? well anyways i took it out for a spin around the block.. ran like a charm... after i got back i went on the freeway.. this lexus es 330 pullled up next to me and floored it... it was kinda like a natural reaction to down shift and step on it also(YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO ABUSE A REBUILT ENGINE!!!)... as soon as i realizied what i was doing i let off. as i came off the freeway and down my street i noticed a knock. ----!!! i thought to myself.. anyways it gets faster and louder during acceleration. mayber a rod bearing? im hoping it was from a messed up EGR valve.. but i have really bad luck with cars.. neways. it ran for like 15 mins.... now i get to put new rod bearings in!! im so excited... not. or if its not that then just buy a new engine or something.. neways.. thanks for the advice rawr.. Later.

just put new bearings in it, use plastiguage to measure ur clearance and get the right size bearing, they are cheap and easy, why waste all ur work on somthing so simple? same thing happened to a fiero my friend and i did, new bearings and no prob's over a year later, beating the hell out of it everyday.
and its a p.o.s. fiero

haha.. so checked rod bearings yesterday.. first off took the oil pan off to find the remaining oil that hadn't drained too look like a silver flake paint job. haha.. lovely. so i went in order from 1 to 4 taking each rod cap off.. 1 2 and 3 were all fine. went to number 4 and the cap didnt come off. so i pushed the piston up so it would detach itself from the crank. the rod bearings looked welded to ther crank.... haha.. and took them off and they are paper thin, wider, and raped the ---- outa the crank.. here's a pic of the baering (left) compared to an oem (right)
so u think the rod beraing was caused by too tight rod cap bolts (even though i tightened them to spec), not enough oil pressure to reach the 4th journal? u think any of those be the case?
i agree chris.. im resreaching 3sgte swap, if im going to buy a new engine.. but chris.. where have u seen a 5sfe for 500 Thanks.
