You can get the seal complete with the piece it comes in so there is no driving and then you cant screw it up. Did you lube it when you put it back on? Is it dripping out of the tranny and making the clutch slip?

either you didn't install it properly, or the previous seal was so bad, it scored the seal journal, your gonna have to take the engine back out to examine what is going on

uh it didn't come with the whole thing it just came with the single seal and i read on the manual on line that you need to tap it in there with that tool and make sure it is straight and i did with some feeler gauges im just afraid it didn't get push in all the way in there or something

The spring side is on the inside, right?

I think I may have pushed mine in too far. I pushed it in so the back was flush, no .003" gap or whatever the ---- the service manual calls for. Oh well, we'll see if she leaks like a bitch. I don't have a clue how to get the new seal out without chopping it to bits.

easy way to remove seal is to drill a hole and fire a self tapping screw in, put some vice grips on the screw and yank it out
