The whole dash or just the gauge cluster? I can make you a copy of the gauge cluster to mount custom gauges in no problem, stainless or aluminum, but the whole dash is a little harder. I have seen a guy localy that striped all the padding off his dash, filled in the holes and painted it, it looked great, but never a sheet metal dash on a street car.

I've been working on getting a shop open. I'll tell you its very hard to get going. The amount of money it takes just blows my mind. Unfortunately for me I am broke and so are all my friends. I have to do it the old fashion way.

As of right now we are focusing on the dsm cars and Honda/Acura. Building manifolds, intercooler, and so on. Lots of custom work, seems like general repair is the easiest way to make money though.

yeah, one day..... the only viable way to make a profit of this is to open a regular shop and do custom work on the side, slowly building it up.. theres no way of blindly opening "xx racing" and expect customers, people want proven products and more importantly proven wins at the track, you will have to chose which market to aim at.. import drag racing (straight line heros), roundy roundy track racing.. or rallying (motorsport of the gods)

e.g i want to concentrate on tarmac rallying , there is a lot of market for this in this country.. lots, step one is to choose a popular car you can make a profit on, ideally i'd like to work with renault 5 gt turbos but you cant base a buisness on one car
so look for something a bit newer, a bit more popular with the right type of person and that still has real potential... and we have the peugeot 205 gti, renault clio 16v etc...

so there you have a "hot hatch" place that does regular servicing and repairs, but also has a hot hatch that is prepared for fast road use.. one promo car there, also sticker it up and rally it at weekends for extra publicity ..

ive already started to prepare my renault 5 gt turbo for road rallying..

at the end ofthe day you have two choices.. sell bolt on ---- and make money, or do custom work and have more fun, gain lots of respect , and have less cash

I personally would like to open a Hyundai tuning shop (you can stop laughing now). Honestly, I'm a Hyundai tech now, and the 2.7L V6 has plenty of nuts, and it can take at least 7lbs of boost in stock trim (I know, our head tech has a one-off turbo kit on his 03 Tiburon.) That's an untapped market, and Hyundais are selling like wildfire. Just my 2 cents.

I want to open a shop so I can sell L.E.D. muffler tips and "powered by mexican" stickers. That market is hot right now!!!!!!
Maybe offer customers a run on my butt dyno.
