Quick ? - What metal are oil pans made of (B/D motors)?
I was wondering what the oil pans are made of (aluminum, steel, adamantium) for B and D series blocks. I assume steel, but don't really know for sure - no hondas in front of me currently.
I should have been more sober last time I tore down the b18a1 but I'm sure someone knows the answer I seek.
Thanks
-Ryan

damn, no adamantium. i know on most cars it's steel.. wondering if a 100% aluminum motor would have a alum pan.
my 4x4 has a steel oil pan but a alum tranny pan (700r4) + aluminum inspection plate (better then the light duty trucks that have plastic inspec plate)

Or while Projekteg is at the honda dealership comparing specs of the 95 and 00 integra oil pans he should look at some D16s for me and write all that ----. Novel idea for ya buddy.

I have two Z6's in the garage and both of them are steel. My old B7 was steel too. Not sure about any others, although I think I remember Jeff saying something about 96+ being aluminum.
