question about springs?

ok i want to lower my car like 2.5 inches its a 95 4dr and my girlfriend has some eibach pro kit springs for a 2000 dx will they work??
if not does anyone know of a good brand spring to use, eibach is a little too expensive if my girls wont work. like would the shitty coilovers from pepboys do the job or is it like most things u get what u pay for??

Re: question about springs?

does anyone have any idea? i know it says for applications they have 96-00 and theres a seperate set of springs for 92-95 but is that just because the ride height might change since they have different chassis or is it because they wont work?

Re: question about springs?

well i've put 6th gen front struts into a 5th gen. Most of the suspension components apprear to be the same, i'm willing to bet though that some slight measurements might be different. (or possible the differences between the springs is height, or spring rate). I do know that you can put dc2 springs into a 6th gen civic. So i'd just give it a shot, if it doesn't fit you can always throw you stock ---- back in and figure out a different way.

Re: question about springs?

Regardless of what brand they are labelled, 95% of the coil springs made in the world come from either Eibach or Carerra, IIRC - there were only two manufacturers in the world.

The problem with cheap coilovers is not the spring, which is generally fine, it is with the assfuck threaded collar that splits and is funky and doesn't fit right in the first place.

You ever hear of Goldline springs? They are a good quality spring that will over-lower your car so it doesn't handle correctly, and will ride excessivley bumpy when combined with the cheapest struts available which are not meant for the Goldline's stiffness or ride height. This should acheive the effect I ASSume you are going for, based on all your comments.

Then lower it to Si ride height, or at most 1/4" below stock Si height. Anything lower hurts handling... lower CG is nice and all, but not when the suspension's dynamic casotr/camber/toe becomes ------- retarded.
