Default question about ls/vtec or just swap crank to gsr

I already have a b18c1 and want to do the ls/vtec. Can i still use my b18c1 block and just use the crank from the ls. Do I need to use the ls rod too?

it wont make a noticable difference, but yes you can use an ls crank with ls rods in a gsr block, if you want more power get a ------- turbo...

If you want torque, a turbo is the way to go. It would probably be less work seeing as though you won't have to open up the engine. I would imagine the gains of an ls crank will be minimal compared to the amount of work.

Not gonna make a whole lot more torque with the ls crank. A b18c1's rod to stroke ratio is 1.58:1, and an LS's is 1.54:1. Better to stick with the b18c1 setup, has less lateral loading on the cylinder sleeves.

for real, i hate people that do dumb ---- like that, ls/vtec is such a ------- fad a lot of the time, get a damn turbo. ------- anything d series turbo will make more torque at idle than all ls.vtecs combined

Yeah, and d-series has the worst r/s ratio of em all...no wonder the sleeves are always egged out of shape I wish I had the option of a gsr bottom end, but all I have is an LS as well :P Might as well start stocking up on blocks.
