question about disc brake swap
I got my rear disc setup off a ABS civic. I don't want to go through the agony of installing the abs. My question is, where is the proportioning valve on this car? do I even need it since its from a eg to an eg? I need to know!

Re:question about disc brake swap
If your car originally had rear drum, you will need the proportioning valve off of another car. You should be able to get around the ABS, just make sure you hook the brake lines up to the brake and not ABS hoses :)
I would also recommend using the Stainless Steel braided hoses. They make a tremendous difference. |
Re:question about disc brake swap
you cant use an ABS prop valve on a non abs car.

Re:question about disc brake swap
see, thats what I thought, so use a teg valve?

Re:question about disc brake swap
The ABS unit is its own prop. valve isn't it? And then there are seperate breaklines...?
Your best bet is to get a prop. valve off of a rear disc civic ex, or 94 del sol vtec. |
Re:question about disc brake swap

Re:question about disc brake swap
you don't need the proportioning valve. You can use the one from the drum when you go from drum to disk. The drum valve should work fine for you. As for the abs just dont hook up the wires. everything else is the same. 98ctr

Re:question about disc brake swap
I thought I needed it. Am I going to have good brake feel without it or will it be spongy?
