Question about cx trans
My friend has a 97 civic ex coupe he just picked up, and the trans is whining pretty good. I told him I would give him my old 95 cx trans that's in great shape, but he's wondering how far off the gear ratios will be if he slaps it in. Anyone (Bone hint hint ;) ) know what the gearing ratios and differences are between these 2 trannys?

Re: Question about cx trans
It's a great trans if your boosted for D series. Allows you to brake boost killa lot when on the move against another car before you take off.

Re: Question about cx trans
Why? Because the long transmission gears create more load? You can do the same with your brakes and those can be released, unlike a long trans.

Re: Question about cx trans
Drive it till it breaks and then just throw the bitch in.....

Re: Question about cx trans
Chris was closest, but still not right.........
92-92 CX/VX tranny = 96-00 HX tranny except for second gear minor differnece 1.900 vs 1.909 gear, you'll never feel it. Now, 5g tranny on a 6g car, how many bolts don't line up? |
Re: Question about cx trans
all the bolts will line up, at least from my experience they do, 99 y7 block with EG tranny, worked fine.
