well as of right now Im gonna get her running good and go with a nice shot of the silly gas or thinkin about going turbo. But my motor has eagle rods, 9.5:1 mahle pistons, stage 5 clutch kit with fidanza light weight flywheel, HUGE intake manifold, aem fuel rail, going with stock injectors for now, light weight crank pulley modified to single pulley for fitment reasons and cam gears. gonna try and see what i can come up with on making my own cable to hydro setup, if nothing else I will just buy it. integra front hubs also to help with the stopping. I am gonna see how the motor sets in tomorrow when my cherry picker gets back. to make sure everything is going as planned. Im just waiting on my timing belt. gonna do my own obd0 to obd1 wiring so I can throw either a chipped p28 or a p13. I have the virgin p28 and needs chipped is all. what size shot of nitrous will a good built bottom end take? with stock injectors and stock fuel pump.
here is a pic of the pulley I cut on ;) Attachment 8772 |

some more pics with the motor dropped in to make sure there wasnt anything I need to cut on or what not.
Attachment 8761 Attachment 8762 Attachment 8763 how it fits with stock radiator all mounts bolted on. The PULLEY I hacked on lol. it fits nicely though.------> Attachment 8764 Didnt have to cut on the rear crossmember at all! left it the same as when I had the b-series in it. Attachment 8765 The blue was painted on because I thought I was gonna have to cut and weld on the side there cause the pulley was hitting but the rear mount wasn't in and that made all the difference. after that the pulley fit. its ok when I pull the motor back out here in a couple days after my timing belt gets here I will paint under the hood area.. still have to weld the mount on too. but its coming together and Im very happy with the way things have been going. thought that swap was gonna be very hard. |
you're not playing around!
Nice work! |
thanks. I hooked up the shift cables and it felt to shift fine. I am leaving to arizona for two weeks for work. And when I get back Ill order the few things I lack. I put the motor in to help break in the mounts cause the're pretty stiff. Im going with a chipped p28 so if anyone has one for sale let me know. also need the ecu plugs with it.
UPDATE: I no longer need the plugs. how much does it cost to get my p28 chipped? I ordered the obd0 to obd1 swap harness and fpr for my fuel rail last night. stock fpr wont fit due to the intake manifold being so dang big.
nice car man
cant wait for finish
No sh*t I cant either lol. Im leaving in 5hrs for arizona to make a quick buck then come home to my parts that should be in already and put them on. thanks for comments and stay tuned cause Ill be back in two weeks with more pics and stuff. have a good 2 weeks everyone

UPDATE: Hey guys I actually came back home earlier than I thought and I have my timing belt, fpr and my obd0 to obd1 harness in, so I have some work to get done!! I cant do it today due to the weather: raining. it sucks lol. Attachment 8587
Im going with hondata s100 to tune for a healthy shot of the silly gas. prob a 100+. If its not raining tomorrow I will pull my motor out and put my timing belt on and put the d-series cable speed sensor in the h-series tranny then get engine bay prepped and drop the motor back in for good this time. I STILL NEED STOCK H22 INJECTORS so please anyone have them for sale let me know.
Oughta be a sweet car when finished ;-)
Yea im hoping so. it didnt rain much today so hopefully this rain dont come as planned. I got most my fuel stuff on today as I didnt have much time. I went and picked up the fittings for the intake manifod/ vacuum lines. Im gonna cap all the water nipples off beside the ones coming from the radiator. Im placing a temp gauge right in the water neck in the front for my ease of mind lol. Im very cautious of my motor overheating, Im always starring at the temp gauge. also got the obd0 to obd1 harness in and ready to wire up for my o2 and vtec stuff. Im hoping to start it here within the next week or two.
Sweet setup
Nice nitrous motors rock haha
Nice build!!!!!!!!!
Should be even nicer when its done and on the road.
Yea well I got the motor out and putting the timing belt on and this sun of a gun wont get on just right. its like its a half a tooth off. just say the cam gears are level with the head tdc marks. and the crank pulley is over that way -------> almost half a tooth. wtf this thing is starting to get on my nerves. can someone point me towards a manual with this info and pics? or is this crank pulley gonna be a lil in either direction? I took out the spark plug and put a long rod on top of the piston to find tdc and it seems to have quit a bit of play and so it makes it hard to find it just right. can someone help fast cause I am doing this now thanks
nice it actually fits pretty nice. i didnt read so what kind of mounts?
will there be any problems with the axles binding like in the eg? this was the swap i wanted when i first got my rex...which was i first car but i didnt know ---- about swapping motors so it wasnt a reality just dreams. now i might give it a try if i could find a rex for cheap
looks sick. keep up the good work
I looked through the axle hole's on the hub when the motor was dropped in and it didnt look like it would have much of a bind if any at all. actually I dunno what mounts these are, got them for cheap so I figured what the hell why not try them. OK everyone I have a list of parts I want/need to get my project done.
1.h22a injectors. 2.alt bracket for h22 with d-series alt. 3.cable to hydro bracket. 4.obd1 h22a dizzy. let me know how much for them shipped if you have any. I also have h22a into eg mounts for sale along with some b18 into 88-91 civic mounts. 75bucks each set. |

UPDATE: I went ahead and ordered some h22a injectors instead of looking for them anymore lol. I got the timing belt on the fpr in place under the hood, fuel lines ready and all with the block and head cleaned then painted with a nice silver paint. excuse the wires I had the harness sitting there so I can extend my alt wires.
but here is another pic of it now.. Attachment 8539 |
you should be able to use the alternator from the f or h series engine, good looking setup.
I know I "COULD" have but I bent the fin on the inside of it trying to take the pulley off. but its cool Im going with d-series cause they are dime a dozen and easy to find. I got my wiring done for the alt and other wires hooked up aswell. so its almost ready to start. waiting on my injectors and I have to drive almost 3 hrs to pick up my ecu's.
UPDATE: got the obd1 jumper harness in and made my own little harness for vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, knock sensor and a couple grounds. turned out pretty good. used plugs off an integra harness to make it. what radiator hoses can I use for this setup???
Another update: Spaced the hood for motor clearance and drilled holes for hood pins. Im not gonna make the same mistake I did last time (the hood came up on me @ 120 mph when I was walking a mustang gt on the highway). my last was a b18b1 crx hf obd1. I cant wait to see what she pulls like now ;)
You got more pics of how its setup?
Nice work
what part of the setup? I can go take some and put them up. I didnt have to work today cause its supposed to rain so I got some time for my car ;)

UPDATE: Made my own cable to hydro conversion. works well but this clutch is supposed to be stage 5 for track so its a lil hard to push in. And dont mind the weld on the rod the welder was acting up and the wire would not feed right. it would only for a sec then stop then go out of the blue again so it was hard to weld it.
Attachment 8498 This pic was with the clutch pushed in. |
