probs w/ ignition and pump,,..FIXED
ok lately my car is sometimes having problem starting up, it would turn over and over but will not start, i swap out the ignitor with another one i had around, and i have a fairly new MSD coil.
I checked the spark and i am getting spark from the wires.
Also WHEN it starts, the car drives FINE, but as i get up to 6000 RPM, i can gradually feel it loosing power, and it bobbles a little.
Only strange thing i noticed, is when i have the ignition ON, but engine is NOT RUNNING, i can hear the fuel pump constantly running. normally it would run for a few seconds then stop
any idea what this could be.
---history right before problem
-installed the obd2-obd1 harness and chipped OBD1 ECU
car ran fine, lots of power, no problem
-installed UBERDATA and car still runs fine & pulls hard
no problem.
then a week later...problem stated.
ANY IDEAS OF WHAT COULD BE WRONG?

I FOUND THE PROBLEM
The ECU is the problem, i tried a different MAIN RELAY, and the nex thing was to test for leeks, BUT that was not it.
Then i decided to try the ECU, and YES it is the ECU.
I hook up my old GSR p72 OBD2 ECU, and fuel pump turns on then after 3.5 seconds it turns back off (just like normal). And when i put back in the Chipped OBD-1 ECU the problem comes back again.
BUT i then there is the problem of my car loosing power at higher RPM. that is still be be solved, it still happens with the OBD-2 and OBD-1 ECU.
so only one problem solved.

yup..................
P72 is OBD2
P28 is OBD1

i still have the problem where i loose topend power.
feel like the engine is Shacking/rocking *back and forth* when i am in boost at higher RPM.
well i kinda found the problem, well not really, my tunner said my timing seems off.
tomor i will check the timing, and see whats up.
hey 98ctr i hook up both ecus on other cars, and they work fine. the only thing i could not check is the uberdata chip on my friends cars (N/A setup).
BUT no matter what ECU i use, STANDALONE or HACK the problem is still there. so it is with the ignition (coil or ignitor) or base timing and not the ECU.
good night guys...i'll call it a night here
