overheating after boosting!!!!!!
sup my turbo peeps!!!!
about a month ago i rebuilt my engine with stronger internals for boosting,u know puttinh the 1000 miles for break in.... but after going into boost the car overheated and now no matter if im beating on it or not it keeps overheating i checked the coolant level -all good,so what gives?? the car overheats alot causing coolant to come trew the reservoir tank, and pressure to build up in radiator.. i have new a termostat and radiator cap so that can be it.......nebody had similar problem??......thanx

Re:overheating after boosting!!!!!!
Lets hope your head gasket is sealing.. or you dont just have a air bubble in your cooling system.
Normally when you blow a headgasket, it slighly pressurizes the cooling system, very little, small bubbles, and this creates the car to overheat. Pretty common, fill up the radiator all the way, keep the cap off, and run the car hot, make sure the the t-stat opens, fan kicks on and you have no bubbles when looking down into your radiator, should be smooth flow.

Re:overheating after boosting!!!!!!
if you start to see BROWN colored coolant in the resevior....pressure pushing through your resevior...its the head gasket. if it doesnt seal...the coolant will mix with the oil turning it light brown.....you'll notice it. good luck.

Re:overheating after boosting!!!!!!
Warm the car up with the cap off. When it's hot, and the cap is still off, rev it up. If the coolant comes bubbling out signifigantly, you have a head/head gasket problem. If the coolant at the cap gets sucked down, and then raises back up when you let off, your head gasket is fine.

Re:overheating after boosting!!!!!!
im ------- dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well,so i figured that whatever the problem was putting the fan direct so it would stay on wuold give me a fix mean while,u guys would not believe that when im rigging the fan i notice it wuold not spin, that's when i noticed the oil cap that i had lost jamming the damm ---- .problem solved.........lol. now in a serious note......yes, whenever gasket problems are the curprit u might notice oil in the coolant but not always.that's what happened to me,i tell u my reservoir tank turned black :P lots of leakage there haaaaaaaa.
