if it's free then go get and tear it apart and learn alil something. Hell you could even make some money from it like the pistons and rods are nice oem upgrade high compression pistons. Cams you could send to like Delta or Web to get regrinds for cheap and sell those. Oil you could tap and sell so those not wanting to tap your own for a turbo setup or just for a replacement on JDM dohc zc's. As far as swapping that engine into a 88+ civic don't waste your time cause it's not worth it it's only good for swapping into older crx's which are a complete bolt.

Look around or ask around, you could find a cheap 1st gen ZC motor for cheap... I found one a year or two ago for a 100. Complete longblock, I woulda picked it up, but I didn't have a 1st gen integ/crx/civic. So yeah, snatch that ---- like a forty of ole E.

you got it backwards.
a1 on the 1g teg.
86-87 brown top. big rods, slight dome pistons.
88-89 black top. similiar to zc. smaller rods, higher dome pistons.

1gen teg motor: D16a1- similar to ZC but not the same, diffternt cams, and compression ratio,
looks like a ZC, but wont bolt directly into 4th gen civic or 2gen CRX chassis, will however swap to a 1gen CRX or 3gen civic chassis though.

D16a1: 118hp.
DOHC ZC: 129hp.

D16A1 is either 112 hp or 118 hp, depending on 86-87 or 88-89.

I had an '87 D16A1 in the old 86 CRX Si. Thing was as fast as the pigslut 99-00 Si's were stock - the riceboys hated me.

power to weigh is everything
a stock 99 si is barely faster than a DA teg
