Ok my friend is getting started on his project, its going to be an LS-Vtec in his 97 dx civic. So far he has a 92 or 93 ls engine (low milage) and matching tranny (unfortunatley for him its cable). To fit that in his civic is he going to need mounts or will modded stock ones work? Hes gonna haveta use the integras axles and stuff too right? The big problem he cant figure out is what computer/wiring harness to run the engine and his speedo/tach etc? Id have him ask for himself but he doesnt have a computer...

 

you need bseries mounts and ls axles. you need some sort of modified ecu to turn on vtec and for the 1.8l displacement. any obd1 computer should be good for the speedo and tach.

 

he was thinking about using a gsr computer but i think its a bad idea because hed have to run all the wires for the oil pressure sensors and vtec solenoid... im thinking the teg computer will work if he used like an rpm switch from summit or somthing. Are those tegs obd1 or obd0?

 

which tegs? up to 91=0 92-96=1 97+=2

 

i believe its a 92... he got the computer with the engine and the axles too.

 

check the sticker on the computer and write out what it says
