oil squirters
im building my b16 my oil squirters dont exactly fit and if i grind them out to where wiesco says they should be they are almost not even pointing up tward the piston. weisco said they should be.030 from piston skirt. A member of the forum said i dont need them its for cooling on the oem castiron piston. My mechinest also said he removes them and plugs the holes on the 2 mazda engine he has built. But anyway to the question now i know i dont exactly need them but this is going to be my daily driver with around 8psi daily driving and 15 at the track or the races. should i try to make them work or should i just plug them up and let what ever happens happens? has any one else built a motor and removed them have a problem with a piston siezing or so on? thanx for any help

Squirters are a mixed bag. Sounds nice in theory. They can lower piston temps as is obvious...
On the flip side. They also almost never operate at the same pressure, the majority probably don't operate remotely close to each other after muhc running time at all. They can cause the oil flow to be unstable during throttle transitions & WOT.
And nobody that's anybody ever keeps them. They're always removed & plugged almsot regardless of the engine type. The dozen Toyota engine's that have them, the half dozen Nissan engines, merc & BMW's, VW, Porsche etc... Most of the time they get nixed.
