Default Odd ticking sound from engine.

Ever since I started up my B16 for the first time I had this ticking sound coming from it, when I put the engine together I checked all the bearings and they were all within spec, I did my valves and put in Nippon Racing pistons (aftermarket replacements)

Anyway this sound is getting annoying, you can hear it on idle and up to 3K rpm, I dont know the best way to describe the sound, its similar to a shitty hydraulic lifter in a chrysler, I'm sure 90% of you know the sound, well thats what it sounds like. I had the car today and gave it some nice pulls to 7K, the sound didnt get any louder.

the wierdest part is that is inconsistant unlike a bearing where it would knock under every combustion cycle, it comes tones down then goes away then comes back.

I have no idea what this sound is, and if its bad, I'll be boosting this engine in about 2 weeks so hopefully its nothing more than a loud engine, could it be pistons slap since they arent the pistons that came with the engine, possible that the cylinder bores are a bit out of round? The car runs like a champ, dosnt burn any oil, spark plugs have a nice gray tinge to them.

Any Imput is appreciated.

Oil pressure is 20psi at idle, 75+ psi after 3K rpm. bearings were nice and tight guys .001 when I checked them.

I just read up a post on HT, people claim that the lost motion assembly goes bad and makes this noise, it goes away at the vtec cross over point, in my case I dont hear a ticking after Vtec kicks in.

Hopefully this is the case with my car.

No DSM injectors yet, I know my stock B16 injector is ticking but this sound is like marbles rolling around in the head, goes away at Vtec, so It must be the LMA's, did anyone else experience this problem with their B16
