Default Odd Radiator problem, could use help...cant get cap to seat correctly.

So I have a customer with overheating issues...the car is at my shop and after careful observation I pull the radiator cap because I notice no pressure build up when full warm...coolant just easily passed to the reservoir.

I look at the cap and it seems fine...i look at the spot on the radiator fill hole where it seats and it is very uneven...this must be the problem.

Any ideas to temporarily make the cap seat better? I dont think I am going to ---- around trying to fix the rad filler hole...it is a cheap cooler, so I am going to just get him another one, just not by Sunday.

Lemme guess...ebay radiator? Might be able to take a dremel tool and work it even.

Grind it flat with a file. If that doesn't work, it's junk.

use an o-ring. that should seal it up a bit until you get a replacement.
