OBDO to OBD1 Swap Question

Default OBDO to OBD1 Swap Question

I have a 90 Crx HF with a D16A6 motor. (The stock crx SI motor). Well I have converted everthing else but the distributor to OBD1. I have an OBD1 dizzy, but all the legs dont line up. I have heard you just cut one off, but im not sure witch one. I was also wondering if you dont mount the dizzy with the flat spot on top of the cap up will it really afect anything? I have asked on honda-tech but of course I have had no help. Please help were hond-tech has fallen short.

he isnt talking about that... he is trying to put the WRONG distributor into the car, so it physically doesnt fit...

Just buy a OBD1 non vtakkkk Distributor.

I already have the obd1 non vtec dizzy it does not bolt to all 3 holes

u can run the obd0 but what motor are u running
cause i have a a crx with a z6 motor with a obd0 dizzy and it works just fine just slant the more towards the exhaust side dont cut of any part on the dizzy just add big washers just to hold it thats it

so what you have is a A6 motor and head and are attempting to run a OBD1 non vtec Dizzy?

if thats the case, i belive the A6 and the Y8 dizzy are almost the same as far as how the bolt up. but im not sure if you can run a y8 dissy using OBD1.

you best bet would be to get a OBD1 head and corresponding Dizzy. i would go with the Z6 head and dizzy.

I dont know if this issue has been resolved or not, but the d16a6(obd0) and the D15B7(OBD1) use the same exact bolt pattern. These D15B7 motors can be found in 92-95 civic dx's. The D15B7 uses the same exact head(different part number(P06)) as the D16A6(PM6). I ran into a similar problem with my crx years back whey I ran this obd1 motor crx that was wired in obd0(stock wiring). Even though this is the opposite situation the basic conclusion is that my stock d16a6 distributor bolted up perfectly on this D15B7, therefore these distributors are interchangeable. So the actual exact plug and play distributor you want is off of a D15B7. All of the holes will line up and there will be no need for rigging or worrying about timing. ....If anyone is interested I can take pics of both the D15B7 and D16A6 distributor in this motor since I still use it to moch up downpipes and dumptubes.
