Yeah, ECUs from engines that make 20 hp less are a real bright idea. Make sure you spray on it, too.

CX ECU might run okay at real low rpm aka limping along, but they're set up for 190cc injectors instead of the normal 240cc so I doubt it.

Best route is to buy a P06, get the P05 chipped, or buy an already chipped ECU with the correct (stock) program for your engine... since Y7 is not OBD1, P06 will do you fine, but if you spray/boost/etc you REALLY need to address ignition timing.

That would dump in a lot more fuel than needed with 240s and the P05.

Get a P06, swap internals from the Z6 into the y7 dist. Just pull all the stuff off your old engine and swap it onto the y7. No wiring has to be done if your swap the dist internals. Everything will bolt right in and no modding needed. No need to repin it or anything like that.

Does it matter if the engine came out of a 1997, obd1/obd2 car ?

UPDATE!*

- i picked up the engine and ist not what i expected,,,, but better
its a Y7 block, with a Z6 head, and Y8 intake manifold, also header and adjustable cam gear... the kid tuned it with emanage when it was in his civic and he dyno'd it and gave me the sheet... he put out 120 hp @ 4500 rpm to the wheels and 109 tq... so this engine will work with my ditsy and ecu.., its pretty solid as well ....basically i worried for nothing

thanks anyways!
