Default O2 sensor?

I changed my o2 and noticed the new one will not screw all the way in the manifold. It feels tight but the washer spinds with a very small gap. Did I damage the threading of the o2/mani? What can i do to solve this problem b/c i got a check engine light on.

sounds like you cross threaded the mani, that happened to me with my t-stat housing. I bought a new valve/sensor (dunno what its officially called) and went to screw it in, felt snug, went in half way ok, drove and coolant poured out everywhere, crossthreaded my t-stat housing becareful with those sensors when puttin new ones in

So would it be okay to force it in the mani?

If the thread is damaged then what do i do? I just want the o2 to sit in there for a few months until i put my hmt kit on. At the same time i don't want to damage the mani, b/c i want to sell it when my kit is done.

if the threads are fucked it will prolly be fucked on the sensor as the mani is cast and if you damaged that then damn what did you do, cant really help until you take it out and look, might just be that the threads need cleaning in the mani
