Which non vtec sohc cam

I have a d15b7 head and i want to replace the cam with a better performing stock one

should i use a jdm sohc zc one?
a d16a6 one?
are they the same?

jdm sohc zc is slightly larger not by much. Bang for the buck cant go wrong w/ an si cam usually can get them for 20 bucks+ shipping. Dont forget the cam sproket. Cheap regrinds go with delta cams

Re:Which non vtec sohc cam

cuz i have a d15b vtec head with shitty valve seals
and i wanted to see what i can put in my d15b7 head that doesnt cost much but gives me something more

its all for boost

if its for boost, dont waste your time man. The cam deal is most effective for naturally aspired motors and sometimes decreases performance on turbo cars if the lift is to much.

It's really not needed ona budget set up. If you are tryin to make 250+ then ya cam design will come into play but for the cost it may not be worth it but the si cam is a nice upgrade in a d15 motor and is very cheap. Pretty much a 100 dollar deal with new vc gasket, cam, and gear

100 dollars???? how??

anyhow since no one has mentioned it i will, the a6 cam sits in the d15b7 off 1/2 tooth or about 4degs retarded, you can either a.) get an adjustable cam gear to compensate if you dont already have one or b.) if your cheap like me you can find a y7/y8 stock cam gear which will get it closer to "TDC" in that head, NOTE: if you want to get an adjustable cam gear and not have to do math make sure to get a 96-00 cam gear to accomidate the difference

I don't think that will make a damn bit of difference since all SOHC adjustable cam gears have the same part number. :P

you have to get a valve cover gasket kit if you remove your valve cover, and buy the cam and cam gear, it's not worth the money for like 1hp maybe. you would be better off spending the money replacing the valve seals in the d15b head.
