Default Nice IAC Valve Solution, Check it out

I don't want to come off as being a know it all so please don't think that i am for this. I've read on forums before that people often have problems with the IAC acting up and giving you a crappy idol when the engine reaches normal op. temp. I've heard of people getting air bubbles out the coolant lines and checking for vac. leaks. Well of course mine is crapping up. And some people don't wanna spend 180$ on a new sensor if they don't have to. So what i did was is take a second one that i had lying around and connected the connector to the second one. I wrapped it in heat wrap and zip tied it away from heat source. I guess what it did was not get optimal engine temp hot and i guess tricked the ECU into thinking that it was still cold and acted correctly. I drove the car long and let my engine really heat up the engine bay from the turbo and it still acted right. There was no check light and the car acted normal. What do you guys think? Is this crazy?

I just partially plugged the inlet hole and it nullifies the IAC.
