Newb tryin to turbo b16
Hey everyone, new guy here, first post woo hoo!! I've been searching for specifics and I've gotten many answers...but still want to ask just to see if I can get a little more help or some good opinions...here goes.
Car is an 89 Crx...with a JDM 1st gen obd0 b16a out of a Crx SiR
Plans are a 14b turbo, custom made manifold, stock dsm injectors and trying to run between 10-12psi...horsepower goal at least 220whp.
Now i have the turbo, manifold is under construction, downpipe and exhaust is covered, have an intercooler with piping...gonna look for some dsm 450cc injectors and maybe upgrade the pump (should i upgrade?).
As far as tuning wise, i'm sure most will tell me to convert to obd1 and get hondata or neptune or uberdata, but could i just run obd0? Should i look into getting an external wastegate and welding the internal one shut? Would i need a boost controller, whether it be manual or electronic? I think that covers all my questions. The motor is a complete JDM oem rebuild with 8000 miles, overbored 0.002, with all new seals, gaskets, and fitted with ARP hardware. Any help would be greatly appreciated and let me know please if i'm missing anything or if u recommend anything

I also say convert to OBD1 and run a P28 with Hondata. The internal waste gate will work but can boost creep under higher boost. An external is much more reliable and effective. DSM 450cc injectors will max out really fast on you. For my turbo I will use ID 1000cc as well.
If you want to try and keep OBD0, go to google and type in turboedit.....read read read....you will like what you find...IF your goal is around 200hp..you should be fine with 450cc, but if you want more, you should go to bigger...(I have made about 290 with 450's but they were totally maxed out..)
As for the best result. I would have to agree with everyone else...convert to OBD1...
