Default need input on building an engine

I blew a hole in my #3 piston on my b16 in my 99 civic si. I currently have 8 psi, and plan to go to 10 by the time this is said and done. I want to build up the bottom of my engine so that there is no possibility of this happening again, but I dont know a lot about what stuff I need. I want to keep this as cheap as possible. Can I get some suggestions on what I need and what brands to go with?
Thanks in advance

10 PSI on a B16 should be very reliable with good engien managment. I wouldnt spend money on internals if your goal is 10 PSi.

for those of you who don't know, he's running an s/c not a turbo but, yeah, what happened, you must have been lean, which you would/should have known from your wb02 anyways, for just 10 psi, and since you have to tear the engine down regardless, i would just get some good je pistons and maybe some rods too..........

my other option here is to try to find a good used low milage b16, would that be a better idea?

well, honestly, you probably would just need to get some pistons and rings, as long as your rods are fine, you won't need anything other than stock for 10 psi. you could prolly even get some more stock pistons (as long as you don't lean out/detonate like that again :P), but since you have to replace them, you may as well get some good forged pistons for extra security. as far as just buying a used b16, i would just replace the pistons in your current engine, then they are fresh, as opposed to buying a used engine with used pistons also. just buy some good je/srp pistons................ oh yeah, DON'T get a blockguard! you don't need one for this amount of boost, and 9 times out of ten, they cause more problems than they do good (over heating)........

if you get after market pistons you can get low comp pistons to help w/ detonation. or... you could get a b18b block for ls.vtec
