Need help with b7 jdm crank combo
Im using a posted d15b7 with an a6 head, y8 intake, jdm crank and aftermarket d16 rods and pistons. Im a bit new to honda engines, most of my experience lies with dsms and Im unsure of what rods and pistons I should use. Im using a leftover T-25 and 450cc injectors, looking at running as much boost as physically possible with that turbo. Im not looking for 500hp but 300 would be nice. I could really use some suggestions as most of my dsm buddies will only tell me to swap in a 4g63.
Tuner toys a sponsor on here sells SRP pistons and there own brand of forged rods which is a good low budget combo. That T25 is pretty small you should tell one of your DSM buddys to give you his 14B and with that you should be good to go.
I knew they would be expensive but I didnt realize it would be that much. Whats the downside to sticking with the all usdm setup? I know d15 aftermarket support isnt that great and the rods are much smaller but is there anything besides that?
you'd be stuck with using D16 rods and D15B VTEC spec slugs for 9.2 or so compression. In THEORY the 01-03 GX slugs would work, but have a 27.0 compression height. The lower height but with a nice dome only yeilds about 9.6 compression.
Using the JDM D15B VTEC crank with D16 pistons means the pistons will be sticking out of the block, enough to impact the head before valve clearance is even checked!
Forget the dome for now, look at the piston edge............
