need advice on intalling clutch

I just finish installoing a new clucth on my 92 CX Eg6 hatch...just wondering if the tranmmission needs to be in Neutral to be install back on the engine...?

its a bitch to get that spline back into the clutch. i would suggest that you screw some of the tranny screws in and ask someone else to hold the tranny up so you can fasten it so it would go in evenly. it took me 7 hrs to get it right and get that damn tranny in.
