So do you just jump in your car, start it and take off like a bat out of hell? I've always let mine "warm up" before taking off. IMO its better on the car. Its kind of like trying to ---- a dried out ----- THAT ---- HURTS. Same concept with your pistons?

 

What I do is start it up, let the oil circulate a bit, let some heat get into it, then take it easy. Smooth acceleration, low speeds, and the thing warms up and most of the slap is gone by the time I get to the end of the street if I goose it.

 

O, well why not just let it warm up completely before leaving?

I guess you really should, but I don't feel like waiting 20 minutes for my temp gauge to move when it's 20F outside... not fun.

 

Neither is shelling out cash to rebuild your engine :P

 

The way I see it I'm getting more p2w clearance. The solution: turn the boost up.
