is my motor SI? [newbie]
ey whats up guys im a total newbie when it comes to cars but i know a lil here n there but heres my problem i bought an 88' CRX a couple months ago n i havent really started to work on it till recently. when i bought the car the guy said it was SI but from what i heard SI's come with a sunroof and what not but the car didnt have a sunroof. from what i heard my car is the HF because everythings manual like the windows and what not. SO to my point, i went to buy spark plugs at kragen autoparts today and when i told him the year and make n what not he asked me if it was a 1.5L but i said no its a 1.6 because thats what the motor said and he said that its the SI motor?? so im not sure but if you guys could just help me out with my confusion lol that would be great

Look at the fromt of the block there is a flat spot where they stamp the engine code.It should say D16A6.You have four fuel injectors or does it say dual point injection on the air cleaner assembly on top of the manifold?If it has four injectors and says PGMFI on the intake manifold but D15XX on the engine you have a HF.

i heard you can put honda motors from different cars into other hondas!? maybe thats what happened!?
d16a6 = Si MOTOR
Power sunroof, 'crx' stiching on door panels, cluster w/ 6500rpm redline tach, grey stiched front seats w/ head rests with "holes" = Si CHASSIS
