Default My motor burns hella oil!!!!!!!

I put another motor in my CRX and it burns oil like a quart every three or four days!!

This sucks, everytime i check it, it is like below the min mark or not even on the stick at all!!!

I dont know if my rings are bad, or what.

I bought some Valvoline maxlife 10-30 oil, and a thing of Lucas oil, maybe that will stop some of the consuming oil.

Also, i run my car like a honda is meant to, so pretty hard at launch then cruise at like 60! i know that would probably come up.

Thanks

how many miles are on that bitch? have you done a compression test? have you tried to drive it normal? its probably your rings.

it could be a bunch of things. ring/pistons/valve seals etc. the only way to know for sure is to do a rebuilt. or you could try to do a compression and a leak down check. 98ctr

I have no clue, i want to swap the head for a y8 that i have, so maybe ill have to put new seals in that, i want to use that block on my turbo project, but not if it keeps burning oil like that.

Ive ran it normal, it still burns it tho. so i dont even care. Ive got a y7 block that if i could find some d series rods i could put it together and then be able to rebuild the one i got in there now!

Ill try to do a compression test this weekend.

I noticed that oil was leaking from the Distribnutor!! so i replaced the O ring which was rock hard!! guess it had over 250 000 miles on it!! Hopefully that will help it alot! Also i changed the oil, got max life, and a thing of lucas oil, also got a fram x filter that is their best.

Man, I think you got bigger problems then what a premium brand of oil can fix. All you are adding is pretty much snake oil. You probably have bad rings if it's burning the oil. Compression test should be the first thing you do to a motor. Does it smoke out the tail pipe? If you were burning that much oil a week you would smell it for sure. I think you just have a ---- loads of leaks everywhere. Get ready for some fun.

Yea i get a little smoke from the tail, only when take off, not constantly.

I have searched for oil leaks non stop, but there isnt any i can find!!! I only found that my dissy was leaking, i changed the O ring around it, but i have a obd0 dissy and its on a obd1 head, so only one bolt lines up, is that the reason its leaking?? I mean the other o ring had 240 000 miles on it and then was removed and put on the motor, so it was hard as hell and i guess time will tell!!!

Ill let ya know, im sure its something, i want to get my compression checked, my damn tester thing is too large to fit.

40 dollars for a compression check? Does that include a *******?

compression testers are around $20 in most auto parts stores.
