do you have a friend with an obd1 civic? borrow a good one. takes 5 minutes. use a marker on his dizzy/head to line it up after.
who cares about the bolt pattern for now.

i thru a code 8 and my timing belt was a tooth off on the camgear, so you might want to check that also.
good luck and don't just go out buying stuff trying to fix it. figure out what is wrong then buy/fix that part.
